  • Make sure you get your "I Ride ATVs and I Vote!" bumper sticker today! Its an election year so let's let everyone know that ATVers have a large and unified voice.

  • We are off to a great start for the 2010 riding season! Please remember to RIDE SMART- be safe and respectful of landowners and the environment.

  • VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Calling all ATVers! Your local club needs your help- contact your club today to see when the next trail work day is scheduled- VASA clubs work hard and play hard so come on out and lend a hand!
  • Do you like to write? How about take pictures? Submit your work to webmaster@vtvasa.org to have your stories and pictures published on the VASA website or in the VASA newsletter! Keep your eye out, the new edition will be in your mail box or available at your local ATV dealer soon!

 

  • Check out what VORA has been up to! This group is working on some exciting new projects that are benefiting all forms of motorized recreation and they need your help! VORA will be holding a meeting on June 16- for more info or to get involved or join VORA, check out their website www.vtvora.org.This group is awesome- check them out!

Westshire ATV Club - update on past events

June 5th- Work Day - Got rained on, but Bruce, Heman, and Marvin managed to do some VASA trail work.

June 9th- Meeting at The B. Durkee's. More events planned. Tracy let us know she no longer wished to hold the position of secretary for the club, now she is VASA's seretary. Thanks Tracy for your years of dedication to the group! We will miss you!

June 19th- West Fairlee Day Parade - Good ATV turn out. Sunny Day! Gave away lots of candy!

June 27th- Bruce, Gloria and Marvin attended a Scavenger hunt in Tophsam. Anah was a great hostess and all had a good time.

July 10th- Work Day on VASA trail. A lot was accomplished, trail is in much better shape. Thanks to both Hemans for the use of the tractor, the work and for all the others that worked hard that day!

July14th-Annual meeting to vote in officers, held at Steve & Candy's. Everyone held their present positions with the exception of a new secretary Ellen Stone! A big W.A.T.V. welcome to her! Bruce & Gloria handed out thank you certificates and a small gift to the officers thanking them for their past year in office. The members present decided to donate money to Westshire Elementary School for the Winter Rec. Program in the name of one of our past officers Helen Stanford who lost her battle with cancer this summer. More events planned see schedule to follow.

Westshire ATV Club - up coming club events

July 24th - Reminder-Vershire Trails ride day meet at trail head at 9:30, bring your lunch and beverage. The rain date is Sunday the 25th . If  in question of ride, give us a call (333-9351) early Saturday morning right now the weather report sounds better for Sunday.

August 1st - Blessing of the ATVs at West Fairlee Center Church. WATV ride with Tophsam Trail Riders at 2:00 meeting at the trail head, then a pot luck meal (with club providing hotdogs & paper goods) at Steve and Candy's, followed by the blessing at 6:30, then a service in the church by Rev. Dick Hodge for those who choose to stay.

All are welcome for all or part of this day!

August 11th - Club meeting 6:30 at Southworth Park, rain place B.Durkee's.

August 14th - work day on Buck Hill meet at Steve and Candy's at 9:30. Club will provide lunch mid day.

September 11th - work day meet at Steve & Candy's at 9:30, call Heman 333-9146 with any questions, club will provide lunch mid day.

September 23rd - Full Moon ride. Leaving trailhead at 6:30, bring a potluck dish to share. Club will supply firewood and Smores.                                                                  

September 25th - Scavenger hunt, Registration starting at 10am at trailhead $5.00 per clue bag, hunt begins at 11am.  More details to follow.

October 16th - Last planned club ride for this year, leaving trail head at 11:00am.

2010 Westshire ATV Club News

Congratulations to David Gritsavage and Joshua Fritz for successfully completing the V.E.S.T. Safety course at West Fairlee on May 22, 2010, GREAT JOB GUYS!! This course is now required for all ATV drivers under the age of 18 if not driving on family property. Westshire ATV Club is recommending this course for all young drivers to avoid receiving a fine.
